“Go on and try to tear me down, I will be rising from the ground like a skyscraper.”
If I hadnt moved to NYC i wouldnt have understood why a building got to have a national holiday. Now i am in full awareness of their greatness. Of their importance. Never has there been an inanimate object that has made me feel so insignificant, yet so hopeful. Skyscrapers are the nice reminder that there is so much in this world bigger than you, so much you will never accomplish and never see.

But try anyways.

So happy national skyscraper day. I firmly believe that if you find yourself staring up at one of these wonders, looking through the windows imagining what life occupies it, and you dont get overwhelmed with hope…You’e been looking at these buildings wrong. Re-look. Try again.
